GOD of LORE Comics Presents
Unlikely: A Modern Faerie Tale
The Fae Wilds were once connected to our world: magic was prevalent and the mystical was commonplace between the realms. The toxic destruction caused by Humanity’s push for industrialization resulted in the spread of “Iron Sickness”, a disease that proved fatal for many of the Fae creatures. Desperate to save their people, the two fae kingdoms, Seelie and Unseelie, along with the deities of the four seasons, decided to sever the plains and all but cut ties with the human world. For some, however, it was too late: when the King of the Unseelie succumbs to the Iron Sickness, Queen Morgause, mad with grief, vowed to destroy humanity, building up a vast army and pillaging her own land for the resources necessary to declare total war. The Seelie, knowing that this kind of vengeance would only bring further destruction to both realms, did everything in their power to stop the mad queen, and so the 100 Years War between the two kingdoms began.
That was all so long ago: the war is over, the queen is dead, and a royal marriage is set to begin uniting the two fractured kingdoms. But when the god of autumn, disappears along with the season itself, the human world and the fae wilds are plunged into chaos. Six strangers, a soldier, a scholar, a musician, an urchin, a librarian, and the Seattlite heir to an infamous company, find themselves at the center of a mystery hundreds of years in the making. Who is responsible for Autumn’s disappearance? What do they plan to accomplish? And what does this mean for the fate of both worlds?
Dirge: A BG3 Fan-Comic
Dirge is a fan-comic based heavily in the world and plot of Baldurs Gate 3. The game follows a group of adventurers, thrust together in order to survive (like any good DND campaign). They must rely on one another to move through the story and discover who they really are. It’s one of my favorite kinds of stories - the kind where you learn about yourself and the friends you make along the way.
I never thought that stepping into the shoes of a character in Baldur's Gate 3 could offer so much more than just entertainment. As a forever game master, I’ve always been the one guiding others through worlds of fantasy, but this time, I found myself in the role of a player, and it became a transformative experience.
After receiving my therapeutic GM certification, I approached the game with a new lens, one that allowed me to understand my own complex emotions and past traumas in a safe and immersive environment. Each decision I made for my character felt like a reflection of my own struggles, particularly with bipolar disorder. The game’s narrative resonated deeply, opening pathways to understanding and healing that I hadn’t realized I needed.
Through this comic, I explore themes of healing, trauma, and community support—the very essence of what it means to share a journey, both in-game and in life. As I navigated the challenges and triumphs of my virtual persona, I discovered a profound sense of catharsis that transcended mere escapism, inviting introspection and connection with others who share similar experiences.
This comic is an artistic representation of that journey, paired with fan service and nerdy references from all media that has shapes me.
mature themes, violence, gore.
